Hello from our new pad! Jokes! Not quite but sometimes I do feel like this is our very own 'Fairycastle by the sea' as it has been called. It is one of our favourite dog walking spots and not only over looks the sea but has it's own forest and Nature reserve leading along the cliffs to sandy, beautiful beaches.  Such a special place.

I'm not going to go into great detail about it's wonderful history, i'm saving it for a more detailed post coming post. One thing I do think I should mention is that this was once the home (in the height of his fortune) of Harry Gordon Selfridge and family.

Tonight is the last Episode of the Mr Selfridge series on ITV *weeps*, so I thought this post was fitting. Both Harry and Rose are buried in a local cemetary and there is lot's of juicy local Selfridge history to come,  i'm saving it for when we are all having HGS withdrawal symptoms.

You can find out more about Highcliffe Castle here.

  4. Wonderfully atmospheric photos. If spring refuses to bring us regular sunshine just yet, I'm glad that our wee island is at least being treated to Romantic mistiness - perfect for rugged up walks. And that belt is just fabulous - and perfect for you - so lovely that it was once your grand dad's!

  5. I'm working on my mist phobia! We spent the week in Sheppey and although the mist was beautiful it took me about 30min to get myself to walk through it... I must say it looks better on your pictures because mine was consisted on thick fog, pebbles and endless sea! xxx

  9. This is incredible. You look like a Russian countess... Like what might've happened if Czar Nicholas' daughters had survived the revolution and gone on to be 1940s fashion plates!

  15. These images are to die for Kelly-Marie! It makes me all the more yearn to be abroad, I know there is beauty in Australia but I guess the grass truly looks greener on the other side. Jesse and I are booking our tickets to Europe in a fortnights time, whilst we're there you must tell us your favourite spots. You look like a dream xx

  17. How did I miss this? Such an enchanting post! You look incredible in that mustard yellow coat, and I adore the hat. How lovely to be able to wear your grandad's belt, and to feel connected with him when you do. That's what I love about vintage clothes, the sense of soul and rich history they carry.
